Jordan's Ministry of Water and Irrigation endorses Jordan Water Project
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Hazim El-Naser, the Jordanian Minister of Water and Irrigation has endorsed the Jordan Water Project research effort, stating,
" We are pleased that the Belmont Forum and the G8 Head of Research Councils have decided to support this important research effort of an esteemed group of professors from several universities around the world to study water management issues in Jordan. MWI is committed to advancing scientific research and knowledge that can aid in evaluating water management strategies in the country and lead to innovative policy evaluation approaches in other countries as well. Towards this aim, we are in support of your work to construct and develop a novel, integrated agentĀ based hydro-economic modeling tool for evaluating water policy interventions in Jordan. We understand that the tool will be used to evaluate various interventions ranging from institutional innovations to supply enhancement, and we are quite interested in the insights the modelling analysis can provide to improve Jordan's water security and sustainability."
The JWP will work closely with Eng. Ali Subah Assistant Secretary General for Technical Affairs Ministry of Water and Irrigation, and his fine staff.
